Who or
What Made an Impression on You?
Some comments made by conference participants..................
* Jim Holloway's rural talk
* Deb Elder and Martha Petty were wonderful in
getting conference
plans together and making adjustment
s
* George Otero, Dr. Nic Clements & Anthony
Salcito offered real ideas and had great information
and experiences to share.
They sparked ideas for me to go out and pursue
* NCEA Staff represent the organization well!
* There were two
highlights for me- two workshops that really stood out and made an impression.
These were the workshop on building partnerships with universities and the
Citizen Schools workshop. I was already in the inception of building a
partnership with a local university with the intention of having university
students engage in a project to teach elementary school students about different
disciplines and professions through apprenticeships. When I attended the Citizen
School workshop and saw how successful their work was with professionals in
communities offering apprenticeships to youth it was so inspiring!
* Thank you for
having the Canadian Community Schools attend the conference, it was a wonderful
experience for me.
* Definitely the talent and positive energy that was
evident with the Leadership Group that worked for two days on recommendations to
the NCEA Board regarding the revitalization of NCEA.
* Highlights for me were the hard work, commitment and support for NCEA of those
participating in the Leadership Summit and the tremendous work of the Arizona
Community Education Association's members to putting on such a great conference
with very strong professional development programming.* I love coming to the NCEA Youth Summit to
find other teens that want to be leaders and make an impact on our
communities
* I really enjoyed the ball of yarn activty it was a lot of
fun and something I have never seen or tried before. Great way to get to
know people.
* The
dedicated work of the Phoenix team to put on a great conference. Kudos to
Martha Petty and the committee for their hard work and excellent
hosting
* The
Leadership Summit brought a depth of discussion that is absolutely necessary at
this critical time in the life of NCEA. Bridget Gothberg and Bob Whitman
deserve our gratitude for their excellent facilitation work
